Mentoring Program Continues

UNC Greensboro’s LIS department is happy to continue this semester’s Facebook mentoring with Joyce Weaver, who will be answering questions from Monday March 30th- Friday April 10th.

Joyce Weaver is Librarian for The Mint Museum in Charlotte, NC. Since she took the position in 2004, the library has received an IMLS Grant for library automation, an NEH grant for conservation assessment of special collections, an Art:21 grant for contemporary art programming in partnership with Queens University Library and an Epson America grant for a professional large-format scanner. She implemented and maintains the library’s special exhibition resource wiki, the Mint Wiki which averages over 1500 visits a month from 68 countries and is being featured in a book about resources for small museums.

Joyce graduated from the UNCG LIS program in 2001 She also serves as Treasurer of the Museums, Arts and Humanities Division of the Special Libraries Association and on the Advisory Board for the School of Library and Information Studies at UNCG. She lives with her partner, John, 3 cats and Stanley, the dog. She enjoys riding her Townie bike and doing embroidery.
