LISSA, UNCG Libraries and LIS Surpass Spectrum Scholarship Fundraising Goal

The UNCG Library and Information Studies Student Association (LISSA), University Libraries and LIS Department raised $571 toward the Spectrum Scholarship.  The fundraising dinner and silent auction were held on June 19, 2010 with a fundraising goal of $500.  http://uncglis.wordpress.com/2010/06/17/uncg-lis-and-piedmont-area-librarians-host-spectrum-scholarship-fundraiser/ This event was held in support of the Spectrum Presidential Initiative, a renewal of the association’s pledge to promote diversity. http://spectrum.ala.org/

Donations were made by Nora Bird, Sandra Andrews, Rosann Bazirjian, Clara M. Chu, Whit Preston, Julie Hersberger, Sha Li Zhang, Linda Gann, Billie Durham and Karen Gavigan.

Silent auction items were contributed by Jim Carmichael, Pam Barron, Gerald Holmes, Sharon Walker, Sha Li Zhang, Nora Bird, Nancy Poole and Patrick Burger.
